A VAT return is prepared for automatic sending to the tax authorities as soon as the VAT return is checked by the administration office or accountant. The VAT return is automatically sent to the tax authorities on a daily basis from the 26th in the month following the VAT accounting period.

However, this is not the case if the portal has been set to require prior approval of the VAT return by the entrepreneur (customer) before the VAT return can be sent.

In the accountant portal, click on the VAT returns tile to view, among other things, the VAT returns that have yet to be sent in the portal domains.

The following screen is opened:

Click the icon behind the name of the administration whose VAT return you want to check and have the entrepreneur (customer) approve.

The following screen is opened:

Click on the Checked button.

The entrepreneur (customer) receives a notification in his or her PO Box and an email in his or her mailbox that the VAT return is ready for approval.

TIP!

For the VAT return of a Fiscal unity, you can also choose to have only the VAT return of the Fiscal unity approved by the entrepreneur (customer). In that case, post the VAT return of each member of the Fiscal unity by clicking on the Fiscal unity button to the VAT return of the Fiscal unity.

The status of the VAT return has changed from 'Draft' to 'Ready to be sent' in the VAT return.

Also in the control overview of the VAT returns, you can see that the status has changed from 'Draft' to 'Ready to be sent.

As long as the entrepreneur (customer) has not approved the VAT return, it is possible to change the status of the VAT return back to 'Draft'.

This requires undoing the check by clicking on the Undo check button at the top of the opened VAT return.

Once the entrepreneur (customer) has approved the VAT return, the following message will appear in his or her screen:

After the entrepreneur has clicked on the Send immediately button, the VAT return is actually sent to the tax authorities.
