Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security when you log in to Yuki. This means that your identity will be determined on the basis of two factors when you log in. The first factor is your username and password, the second factor is a 6-digit code generated for you on your mobile phone.

Each user in Yuki can enable the two-factor authentication in his or her contact card.

Two-factor authentication can be disabled again at any time via your login screen or if you are logged in to Yuki via your contact card:

After enabling two-factor authentication, you need to enter the following details during login:

  • step 1: your user name (email address) and your password
  • step 2: a 6-digit code generated by an authentication app.

To generate the 6-digit code, you must use the Google Authenticator app or the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile phone.

Both apps can be downloaded from the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).

For a detailed description of how to install the Google Authenticator app on an Android or an iPhone, see Download and install Google Authenticator app.

For a detailed description of how to install the Microsoft Authenticator app on an Android or an iPhone, see Download and install Microsoft Authenticator app.

Enable two-factor authentication

To enable the two-factor authentication, go through the following steps:

  • Open your own contact card in Yuki
  • In the address card now opened, click the Password button.

  • In the screen now-opened, click on Enable behind Two-factor authentication and go through the following steps:

    • Scan the QR code in your screen with the Google or Microsoft Authenticator app:

  • In your mobile phone screen, the 'Yuki' account is now added and the 6-digit code is generated

  • Now enter the 6-digit code in the screen above
  • Click the OK button
  • In the screen now opened, you can see that two-factor authentication is enabled in Yuki

From now on, after entering your user name (email address) and password, you will also have to enter the 6-digit two-factor authentication code generated by the Authenticator app on your mobile phone every time you log in.

When you are working on a secure computer or laptop, you have the option to select Trust this device for 30 days in the login screen. This means your login is still protected by the two-factor authentication but you no longer have to enter the 6-digit code for 30 days.

After entering the two-factor authentication code, click the Continue button. You are now logged in to your domain.
