Why do I get red and blue lines in my bank statements?

All screenshots in the article were taken in the Dutch version of Yuki.

Yuki always checks whether the opening and/or closing balance of the last bank statement submitted matches the bank balances calculated by Yuki on the GL account number on the same day. If this is not the case, the lines in the statements get a different color.

For example, it is quite common that a statement with a opening balance and closjng balance on e.g. 03-03-2020 also contains transactions that have a different transaction date. Storno's for example often have a transaction date related to the original collection date

The lines in the bank statements may have the following color:

  • Black/grey: The opening and closing balance calculated by Yuki is equal to the balance in the statement provided by the bank.  As long as the top line of the statements is black, there is no problem.
  • Blue: The opening and closing balance calculated by Yuki does not equal the balance in the statement provided by the bank. However, the difference between the balances remains the same with the following lines.
  • Light red: The opening and closing balance calculated by Yuki does not equal the balance in the statement provided by the bank. However, the difference between the balances becomes smaller or larger on the following lines.
  • Dark red: The opening balance is dark red when it is not the same as the closing balance of the line below it. The closing balance is dark red when it is not the same as the opening balance of the line above it.
