Depending on the customer's choice, various booking procedures are possible. Here, the most comprehensive description is provided, where the net wages payable per employe are also booked via the pay slip, allowing the wages to be paid out using a SEPA or CAMT file generated from Yuki.
The payroll accounting procedure consists of a number of steps. These steps collectively determine the booking process associated with the administrative handling of wages. The booking process consists of the following four steps:
- Posting the payroll journal entry
- Posting the pay slip
- Processing salary payments
- Posting a payroll tax return.
The payroll journal entry
This is usually the cumulative payroll journal entry provided by the payroll department or the accountant. Here, the '17000 Remuneration' posting is accumulated and is then reversed in the next step via the pay slip.
The pay slip
This involves booking the pay slip as a kind of purchase invoice. This creates a payable item for the relevant employee. The booking for Dutch administrations is done via the accounts '20000 CA employees' and '17000 Remuneration'.
For a detailed description, see article Post pay slip.
The salary payment
The salary payment is recorded via the bank as a bank transaction. A receivable has been created for the employee in question via the pay slip. This is debited from the payment with the journal entry '20000 CA employees' to Bank.
The payroll tax assessment
The payroll tax assessment is provided by the payroll department or the accountant. The booking is made via accounts '17100 Payroll tax' and '17110 National social security office'. Upon payment, this is debited with the journal entry '17110 National social security office' to Bank.
