From an opened bank account, all interest and bank costs of a bank account, credit card, or online payment provider can be viewed.

Only a user with the 'Management', 'Financial administration', or 'External accountant' role can view the interest and bank costst of bank accounts.

Interest income (received interest) and interest expense (paid interest) are booked separately. Interest income is booked as revenue, while interest expense falls under operating expenses.

This overview only includes interest that has been posted to GL account '85000 Interest income' or GL account '86000 Interest paid', respectively.

Bank costs consist of fixed costs (monthly or annual fees), transaction fees, and other costs (such as additional services) and are booked as business expenses and are usually exempt from VAT.

This overview only includes bank costs posted to GL account '45800 Bank costs'.

Hover your mouse over the Bank icon in the navigation bar, then click on Bank accounts.

In the now-opened screen, you open the account with the associated interest and bank costs by:

  • clicking on the bank account name
    OR
  • hovering your mouse over the relevant bank account line, clicking on the button with the three dots and then selecting "View" from the dropdown menu.
