Example of bank inconsistency
If the opening and closing bank balances show 0.00 euros, it means that the transaction lines were submitted in a CSV file. This bank account still contains a bank inconsistency because there is a bank balance on the top two debit lines.
Search for bank inconsistency
It often happens that the difference between the balances can be found exactly. The difference between the two ending balances: 26210.07 - 26133.35 = 76.72 euros.
Go through the following steps:
- Hover your mouse over the Bank icon in the navigation bar and then click on Electronic statements.
- In the now-opened screen, click on the Duplicate lines button to check if any transaction lines have been mistakenly marked as duplicate by Yuki.
The problem here is that there is no difference between the last CSV file and the first MT940 file. These match up nicely in terms of date. The date, 11-08-2011, of the first MT940 file is the closing balance in the file, the date of the opening balance was 28-04-2011.
Action to be taken
Probably the bank inconsistency is in the opening balance or we are missing one or more transaction lines somewhere in the CSV statements, but there is no way to check that. This would only be possible if the customer also provides the paper statements, so you can check if any transaction lines are missing.
