Update chart of accounts from other domain

It is possible to work with a fixed office schema (called template chart of accounts) that allows you to easily update GL accounts in other domains.

Only a user with a 'Back office' role in the domain can use a chart of accounts form another domain as a template in order to quickly configure another domain. 

Access to chart of accounts

To access:

• click on the Financals icon in the navigation bar
• then, in the now-opened screen, click on Chart of accounts under Edit.
  OR
• click on the Back office icon in the navigation bar
• then, in the now-opened screen, click on Chart of accounts under Actions.
  OR
• click on the Settings icon in the navigation bar
• then, in the now-opened screen, in the Financial section click on Chart of accounts.

Update chart of accounts

In the domain whose chart of accounts you are setting up, you have access to the Update from another domain button. This button helps you update the chart of accounts in the current domain based on another domain.

Click on the Update from another domain button. In the now-opened screen, you can select a template domain. This domain serves as the basis for updating your current chart of accounts.

Select a domain and click on the Save selected domain button to update the chart of accounts.

Once you have chosen a template domain, you will be presented with an overview of the differences between the template domain and your current domain.

You can adjust these differences based on the GL account numbers.

Existing GL account numbers

If theGL account with the same number already exists in the current domain then the following can be updated:

• the deductability percentage of an existing GL account 
• the setting whether or not an existing GL account is enabled or disabled
• the setting whether or not VAT is applicable for an existing GL account
• the description of the GL account.

TIP!

If a description of a GL account is different it is not selected by default and therefore will not be updated by default.

New GL accounts

If the GL account does not yet exist in the current domain then a new GL account can be created with the same properties as the one from the template domain.

For all selected differences in the list update the current chart of accounts by clicking on the Update chart of accounts button.

After this, an overview is shown with the changes made.
