Status of VAT return in domain

A VAT return has one of the following statuses in Yuki:

  • Draft
  • Ready to be sent
  • Ready (corrected)
  • Closed
  • Sent differently
  • Closed (historical)
  • Closed (not sent)
  • Posted to fiscal unity
  • Closed (in fiscal unity).

VAT return with status 'Draft'

A VAT return with this status is automatically prepared by Yuki at the start of a new VAT accounting period in Yuki.


Entries

The VAT return has not yet been processed in the administration in Yuki, therefore no entries have been recorded yet.


VAT return with status 'Ready to be sent'

A VAT return with this status has been approved or checked by the administration office or accountant, as a result of which the VAT return (possibly after approval by the entrepreneur (customer)) is ready to be sent to the tax authorities.


Entries

The VAT return has not yet been processed in the administration in Yuki, therefore no entries have been recorded yet.


VAT return with status 'Ready (corrected)'

This status is only available in the portal of the administration office or the accountant.

A VAT return with this status has been corrected after approval or review by the administration office or accountant.


Entries

The VAT return has not yet been processed in the administration in Yuki, therefore no entries have been recorded yet.


VAT return with status 'Queued to be sent to the tax authorities'

A VAT return with this status has not yet been sent to the tax authorities. Every hour, all VAT returns in the queue are sent by Yuki to the tax authorities.


VAT return with status 'Closed'

A VAT return with this status was sent through Yuki to the tax authorities, received correctly by the tax authorities and then processed in the administration in Yuki.


Entries

When processing the VAT return, the following entries are recorded in Yuki:

  • 18990 VAT returns transfer account:
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at high rate
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at low rate
    • Acquisitions from within the EU
    • Input tax
  • 24000 Current account VAT
  • 45910 VAT corrections.


The VAT return has yet to be matched with a payment in Yuki (see 24000 Current account VAT).


TIP!

For all outstanding VAT returns for which a deferral of payment has been granted by the tax authorities, a user with the 'Back office' role in a domain can automatically create a general journal entry by clicking on the Payment deferral arrangement button.



In this general journal entry, the outstanding amount is debited to general ledger account '24000 Current account VAT' and credited to the new general ledger account '24040 Payment deferral current account VAT'.



Should this general journal entry have been created in error, it can be deleted manually,


VAT return with status 'Sent differently'

A VAT return with this status has been sent to the tax authorities  but this sending has not taken place via Yuki.


Entries

The VAT return was not processed in the administration in Yuki, therefore no entries have been recorded.


VAT return with status 'Closed (historical)'

A VAT return with this status was not sent to the tax authorities but was processed in the administration in Yuki.


A VAT return is set to 'Historical' when, for example, it is to be included in the following year.


Entries

When processing the VAT return, the following entries are recorded in Yuki::

  • 18990 VAT returns transfer account:
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at high rate
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at low rate
    • Acquisitions from within the EU
    • Input tax
  • 24000 Current account VAT 
  • 45910 VAT corrections.


The VAT return has yet to be matched with a payment in Yuki (see 24000 Current account VAT).


ATTENTON!

For all outstanding VAT returns for which a deferral of payment has been granted by the tax authorities, a user with the 'Back office' role in a domain can automatically create a general journal entry by clicking on the Payment deferral arrangement button. 



In this general journal entry, the outstanding amount is debited to general ledger account '24000 Current account VAT' and credited to the new general ledger account '24040 Payment deferral current account VAT'.



Should this general journal entry have been created in error, it can be deleted manually,


VAT return with status 'Closed (not sent)'

A VAT return with this status was not sent to the tax authorities but was processed in the administration in Yuki.


A VAT return can be set to 'Not sent' when there is a rounding difference, for example.  

However, no further payment is expected in Yuki for the VAT return.


TIP!

Yuki also automatically sets a VAT return to Closed (not sent) when the time of user approval is much later than the VAT accounting period.

When processing the VAT return, the following entries are recorded in Yuki::

  • 18990 VAT returns transfer account:
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at high rate
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at low rate
    • Acquisitions from within the EU
    • Input tax
  • 24000 Current account VAT 
  • 45910 VAT corrections.

VAT return with status 'Posted to fiscal unity'

A VAT return with this status has not been sent to the tax authorities but posted to the VAT return of the Fiscal unity.


Entries

The VAT return was not processed in the administration in Yuki, therefore no entries have been recorded. .


VAT return with status 'Closed (in fiscal unity)'

A VAT return with this status has been sent to the tax authorities via Yuki as part of the VAT return of a Fiscal unity, correctly received by the tax authorities and subsequently processed in the administration in Yuki.


Entries

When processing the VAT return of the Fiscal unity, the following entries are recorded for the VAT return of each member of the Fiscal unity in Yuki:

  • 18991 VAT fiscal unity:
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at high rate
    • VAT on supplies/services taxed at low rate
    • Acquisitions from within the EU
    • Input tax
  • 20100 CA companies.
