All screenshots in the article were taken in the Dutch version of Yuki.
In Yuki it is possible to manually create a general journal entry without a document having been submitted for this entry.
Only a user with a 'Back office' role in the domain or the 'External accountant' role can manually create a general journal entry.
A general journal entry can be created manually from various places in Yuki:
- Hover your mouse over the Financials icon in the navigation bar and then click on General journal
- Click on the Back office icon in the navigation bar and then, in the now-opened screen, click on General journal.
In the now-opened screen, click on the General journal, Opening balance sheet, Year-end correction or Fiscal correction button.
In the next screen you will be asked how to create the document that forms the basis of your general journal entry.
Yuki wants to record as many documents as possible so that you can later find out why a certain entry was made. This certainly applies to a general journal entry as well. You have three options here:
- I want to upload one file form my PC (e.g. a PDF file or Excel sheet)
After choosing a local file, click on the Continue button and the document will be displayed on the right-hand side of your screen. - I want to merge several files (pages) into one document (e.g. two scanned pages in JPG format)
You click on the Select files button to select them on your computer and then click on the Upload files button. The documents are displayed page by page on the right-hand side of your screen. - I want to type a document directly (you don't have a document but want to enter the comments by hand in some kind of Word document).
After you have uploaded the document, merged it or manually entered comments in a Word document type, the general journal entry can be recorded.
