Before you start creating and sending sales invoices to your customers, one or more sales items must first be created.

A created sales item is always automatically added to the default price list of the selected administration in a domain. However, once you have created multiple price lists in an administration, you must select the correct price list of the administration during the creation of the sales item.

You can create a sales item from three places in Yuki:

  • Hover your mouse over the Sales icon in the navigation bar. Subsequently click on Dashboard and then in the now-opened screen click on the Sales item option of the Create... button
  • Hover your mouse over the Sales icon in the navigation bar. Subsequently click on Sales Items and then in the now-opened screen click on the New Sales Item button
  • Hover your mouse over the Sales icon in the navigation bar. Subsequently click on Price lists and then in the now-opened screen click on the description of the price list
In the now-opened price list, click on the Add a sales item button and finally click on the New sales item button.

TIP!

You can use the import functionality to import sales items that are not yet present in the domain.

The following screen is opened:

The details of the sales item can be entered in the fields described below.

After entering the data, click the Create button to create the sales item in the selected price list.

Description (required)

This is the description that can be made visible on the invoice. The description can still be changed while entering the invoice.

It is also possible to enter an English or French description by clicking on the Translations arrow.

If an English or French invoice layout is chosen, this description will be used.

Reference

The reference is the article code. It can be used to search for the sales item or to enter it quickly. The reference cannot be printed on the invoice.

When creating the UBL document linked to the sales invoice, the reference is stored in the 'Sellersitemidentification' field.

General ledger account (required)

Find and select the general ledger account to which the revenue from this sales item should be posted by Yuki.

You cannot select a cost account here.

Price list (required)

Select the price list to which the sales item should be added

Sales price (required)

Here you enter the default sales price of the sales item. Whether this is the price excluding or including VAT is determined by the price list in which the sales item is included.

By default, the price list excludes VAT, so the price you enter here also excludes VAT.

Supplier

Find and select the external supplier from which the sales item is purchased.

VAT rate (required)

Select the VAT rate normally applicable to this sales item.

You can add one or more tags to a sales item so that the sales item can be easily identified and found in Yuki.
