All screenshots in the article were taken in the Dutch version of Yuki.

Yuki has an advanced Search function that you can use to search within a domain.

The Search function searches within a number of categories throughout the Yuki domain for anything that matches the search term(s) entered. The categories within which the Search function searches are:

  • All
  • Contacts
  • Documents
  • Chart of accounts (general ledger accounts)
  • Statement lines (transactions)
  • Appointments
  • Tasks
  • Back office questions/answers
  • General journal (only available to a user with a 'Back office' role in the domain)
  • Pages
  • Settings
  • Projects (only available in Medium, Large or Unlimited bundle).

The above categories are selected by default and can be disabled individually if required, limiting the number of search results.

A search term can consist of (part of) a name, a number, an amount or a date. You can also perform a targeted search based on a combination of different search terms.

Besides the search results, Yuki also shows a so-called Best match, the search result that Yuki thinks best matches the search term(s) entered.

TIP!

The available categories and search results depend on your role(s) in the domain. Any data in the search results to which you do not have access based on your role(s) will not be shown in the search results on your screen.

To use the Search function, you can enter a search term at the top of the screen from any screen in your domain.

Click in the categories drop-down menu to disable one or more categories if you require, thus limiting the number of search results.

Yuki remembers the categories within which you want to search so that the next time you use the Search function, you automatically search in the same categories. The search term is also remembered by Yuki, when you next use the Search function, you can enter a new search term directly if required.

Click in the search field now shown to enter one or more search terms. While entering a search term, Yuki will already show one or more search results.

You can search your domain by name, number, amount, date or perform a targeted search.

Search by name

You can search for a (part of a) name by entering 'tele' in the search field, for example.

The search result now shows all data in which this name has been entered in the 'Description', 'Subject', 'Name' or 'Company name' field.

Search by number

You can search for a number by entering '500' in the search field, for example.

The search result now shows all data where this number has been entered in the 'Description', 'Subject', 'Name', 'Company name' or in a numeric field such as 'Invoice number'.

TIP!

The invoice amount 500,35 will not be included in the search result in the above example. Only the exact invoice amount 500,00 will be shown.

Search by amount

You can search for an exact amount by entering this amount in the search field, for example, '54,45' or '54.45'.

If you want to search for amounts within a certain range, use a '-' in the search field, e.g. '50-60'. The search result now shows all data with amounts from 50 to 60 euros.

Search by date

You can search for a specific date by entering it as:

  • 18/05/2018
  • 18-05-2018
  • 180518
  • 18052018.

The search result now shows all data where the 'Date' field contains one of the above values.

Targeted search

You can conduct a targeted search using different search terms and combine them using a space, e.g. 'tele 100-150 18-05-2018'.

The search result now shows all data in which this name was entered with an amount between 100 and 150 euros with date 18-05-2018.
