Create customer (individual/company) via sales invoice

All screenshots in the article were taken in the Dutch version of Yuki.


Persons are contact persons in Yuki at companies, customers (individuals), private persons, users in Yuki or employee and may or may not be in the personal address book.


A newly created contact person will be directly linked to the company for whom the invoice is intended.


Companies can be customers, suppliers or nothing in Yuki and may or may not be in the personal address book.


In an open invoice, click in the Customer field and then select + New contact from the drop-down menu.


In the now-opened screen, click on the Individual or Company radio button behind the Type field to add a new contact of type 'Person' or 'Company' respectively.



The initial contact details of the individual or company should be recorded and supplemented or changed later if necessary:

  • Name (required)
  • Address:
    • Street + number
    • Postal code + City
    • Country (required).
  • Financials (only available with company type)
    • VAT number
    • CoC
    • Contact code.
  • Contact details:
    • Phone (work)
    • Email (work)
    • Website.


Click on the Next button to record non-address-related data including, among others, the default values of the individual or company:

  • Default values:
    • Invoice layout
    • Price list
    • Sending method:
      • Email
      • Postal
      • Peppol.
  • More details:
    • Heading
      If you have a contact in Yuki, you can enter a salutation in this field that can be used in invoices that you send from Yuki. By default, 'Dear Sir/Madam' is used.
    • Printer label
      In this field, enter the name as it should be printed on the label.
    • Gender (only available with individual type)
    • Function (only available with individual type)
    • Project
      Select the project to which this individual or company should be linked here. A project contains various items such as tasks, appointments, contacts, documents and email belonging to a subject or dossier.
    • Tags
      A 'label' that can be stuck on the contact, making it easy to find in Yuki. You can also use a tag, for example, to create a mailing list.
  • Postal address (when creating a quotation, this address, if filled in, is used) 
    • Street + number
    • Postal code + City
    • Country (required).
  • Other address (only available with individual type):
    • Street + number
    • Postal code + City
    • Country (required).
  • Extra:
    • Notes
      All other important details of the individual or company can be recorded in this field.



Once you have entered all the details of the individual or company, click on the Create button which will create the individual or company as a contact in Yuki's address book.
